James E. “Fuzzy” Mettille, 62, of O’Fallon, IL, born Sunday, March 18, 1956, in Peoria, IL, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
Owner of J.E.M. Mobile Home Service since 1982. He was considered to be the Mobile Home “God”. His ability to move them was by far the best around. He was known for being the “Walking Book of Knowledge” or “The Shell Answer Man”. He knew everything about everything. Fuzzy had a love of cars and a true passion for restoring and showing them. Over the years, he won many awards for his efforts with cars. He was one of the kindest men you would ever meet, and he never met a stranger. Fuzzy enjoyed life to the fullest and lived by the motto “work hard, play hard”, and did he do both to the fullest…” only the good die young”. He loved his family more than anything and was the best husband, dad, and grandfather anyone could ask for. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was the Epiphany of Life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bert Mettille; his mother and step-father, Silas, and Dorothy Kathleen Clark, nee Breese.
Fuzzy is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Rene Mettille, nee Cobb; three children, Heidi Mettille of Freeburg, IL, Erin (Jeff) Cook of Shiloh, IL, John (Katie) Mettille of O’Fallon, IL; one brother, Mike (Diane) Link of Belleville, IL; two step-sisters, Kathy (Danny) Cape of Bartonville, IL, Kay (Randy) Reiger of Tremont, IL; six grandchildren, Ariel, J.C., Cameron, Jesse, Macie, James II; two nieces, Kristin Link of Belleville, IL, Stephanie Link of Belleville, IL; many cousins; and his “girlfriend”, Skeeter.
