James E. McBride, 87, of LaSalle, passed away 11:22 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Mendota Community Hospital. He had been a resident of Heritage Manor in Mendota. Mr. McBride was born August 28, 1922 in Peoria to Robert J. and Catherine E (Finn) McBride.
He was a United States Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theater. He married Betty J. Camenisch on November 10, 1944. Mr. McBride was the owner/operator of McBride Agency, in LaSalle. He was a member of St. Patricks Church, LaSalle Rotary Club, VFW, American Legion and the Independent Insurance Agents.
He is survived by his wife Betty of Peru, 2 sons, Robert (Ellen) McBride of Jacksonville, IL and Ralph (Mary Ann) McBride of Rockford, IL, 2 daughters Marcia (Rich) Pendergast of Dallas, TX and Sally (Jim) Grubar of Utica, IL, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 1 sister Paula Corti of Utica, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Richard McBride and 1 sister, Mary LsBarbera.
