James E “Jim” Knoll, 59, Seward, IL formerly of Monroe, WI passed away December 26, 2015 at home.

He was born January 25, 1956 in Freeport, the son of Kenneth and Myrtle (Schaney) Knoll, Sr. He married Rhonda Brocker on March 13, 1999 in Pecatonica, IL.James had many passions in life working for himself in the restaurant business, owning two restaurants, the Golden Nugget in Gratiot, WI and Waterwheel Outback in Winslow, IL.

He also owned Hilltop Septic Service, Seward Grocery Store and worked for Swiss Colony and Mitek in Monroe, WI. He loved to work on classic cars, cook, travel especially going to Savannah Ga, Galveston, TX and Myrtle Beach SC with views of the ocean, and visit with friends and family. His knowledge of cars, his humor and great cooking will be sadly missed. He also worked for the Monroe Police Department as an Auxiliary Sargent helping at risk children.

James is survived by his loving wife Rhonda, his faithful and loving companion Chewie, two sons, Cory (Elizabeth) Brooks of Lexington, KY., Kyle Knoll of Monroe, WI., brother Kenneth Knoll Jr., sisters Sandra Knoll, Mary Anne (Kenneth) Gritzmaker, Karon Niesman, Jane Ussery (his twin), father and mother in law Donald and Margaret Brocker Sr. of Seward, IL., brother in laws, Donald (Diana) Brocker Jr. of San Antonio, TX., Richard (Julie) Brocker Sr. of Woodstock, GA., sister in laws Debra (Richard) Goetze Sr. of Griggsville, IL., Camilla (Robert) Durham of Genoa, IL., numerous nephews and nieces, one grandson Wesley Brooks of Lexington, KY., of whom he never met.

Predeceased by parents Kenneth and Myrtle Knoll Sr., a sister Phyllis Newcomer, step brother Ralph Plowman, and brother in law Daniel Niesman. Just remember life is too short and it is unfortunate James will never know why his sons never wanted to be a part of James’s life even though he always thought of them often and loved them very much.
