James E. Heiny, 84, of Fortville passed away November 7, 2013. He was born December 22, 1928 in Indianapolis to the late Lando and Mildred (VanArsdal) Heiny and was a 1946 graduate of the old Mt. Comfort High School.
He worked as a plumber until his retirement in 1996 and was a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 440, as well as the F&AM No. 207, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and Eastern Star Chapter No. 149. Mr. Heiny served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years Donna Lee (Noe) Heiny; daughters Teresa Heiny of Columbus and Jana Coleman of Fortville; granddaughter Brittany Cravens of Indianapolis; sister Dorothy (Charles) Heron of Greenfield; and brothers Bud Heiny of Greenfield and Ronald Heiny of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by sister Mary Alice Williams and brother Bill Heiny.
