James E. Chopper Webb, 68, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at his Fairmount residence. Chopper was born in Wabash, Indiana on June 19, 1949, son of the late Morey Earl and Helen Beatrice (Hanley) Webb. He graduated from Wabash High School in 1968. Chopper worked for Rosies Little Italy in Wabash and for Pennington Appliance in Marion from 1979-1985.

Heowned the Fairmount Car Wash and began working at Fox TV and Appliance in 1985. He joined the Fairmount Township Fire Department in 1990, where he was a faithful member receiving the Fireman Of The Year Award many times, served as Assistant Chief for 12 years and was a driver for Medic 7 for 12 years. He was great at electrical work, loved dogs and was always willing to help anyone in need, and was a member of the Fairmount Masonic Lodge #635.

Chopper is survived by his brother Tom Webb, Ft. Wayne, IN, sister, Mary Lloyd, Las Vegas, NV, nieces: Christina Ann Lyon, NY, Linda Diane Struble, Ft. Wayne, Susan L. Savage Ellensburg, WA and Maryann (Stephen) Cook, Ft. Wayne, IN and his many brothers of the Fairmount Town and Township Fire Departments.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Betty Lou Webb and a niece Lisa Ann Webb.
