Mr. James Doyal Spires, 53 of Huntsville, a loving and caring father who loved spending time
with his family, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by loved
ones. James was born July 25, 1967, in Cleveland, Ohio to Doyal “Doc” Spires and Linda
Bradley.
James was a graduate of Medina Senior High School class of 1985. Growing up James had a
passion for computers. He enjoyed learning how they operated, along with assembling and
disassembling them.
After high school James attended OSU and DeVry Institute of Technology to become a Network
Engineer, specializing in Information Technology Systems Support. James’ knowledge of
computers brought him to Huntsville, where he was employed at Kratos Defense & Security
Solutions as an IT Specialist for several years.
In his spare time, James enjoyed hiking, camping, bonfires, building models, working on cars,
as well as watching Star Trek, Star Wars, and Marvel movies with his family. As a fan of the Star
Trek Community, James would dress up as a Klingon and would do charity work to raise money
for families with children who have disabilities.
James is survived by his spouse of 17 years Jennifer Spires, his children: Logan T. Spires,
Ronald J. Howard, Haylee R. Keene, Elizabeth M. Spires & Alexander D. Spires. He is also
survived by his mother Linda Bradley and his two sisters Carolyn Miller and Anna (Mike) Adkins
and several nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his father Doyal “Doc”
Spires.
