James is survived by he loving wife of 46 years Diana Godwin, six children; Doug (Angela) Godwin, Jason (Sandra) Godwin, Woody Godwin, Chris Godwin, Mathew (Miranda) Godwin, and Leslie (Allen) Cooper, 11 grandchildren; Kyrstie (Allen) Holm, Josh Godwin, Courtney Godwin, Austin Godwin, Haley Godwin, Hayden Godwin, Ty Godwin, Calynn Godwin, Brittany Johnston, Zachary Cooper, and Sarah Cooper, two great grandchildren; Faithlynn Godwin, and Ila Holm, five sisters; Shirley Wetheringtion, Beverly Sirmon, Linda Preston, Judy Hayes, and Mary Lou Bedingfield, a special friend Haywood (Sherry) Tart, and many other family and friends.
