Doc was greeted in heaven by his loving wife Hazel Tanner just days after what would have been their 66th wedding anniversary. He was also greeted by his two children, Patsy and Randy Lamar; his parents and all of his siblings were there along with many relatives and loved ones to welcome him home. He was a wonderful father to his children, Terry Tanner and his wife Sharon from Pason, AZ, Jo Collins and her husband John from Dalton, GA, Annetta Deegear and her husband Mark from Fort Worth, TX; he had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loving family and friends. Doc was also a minister for the Church of God of the Union Assembly. He pastored several churches in his years of ministry. From Arizona, Indiana, Texas, and Georgia where so many special people became family. He served our country as an honorable soldier in the United States Army. His passion other than his church is his place in the Masonic Lodge. He held several positions not only in Georgia but in Texas. He held several duel lifetime memberships to several lodges. He also enjoyed his membership in the order of the Eastern Star. His Masonic Brothers and his Eastern Star Sisters became a bigger edition to the Tanner family.
