James “Doc” Lawrence Pyles, 58 of Tunnelton, WV, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born May 14, 1956 in Kingwood, son of Violet Mae Smith Pyles, Kingwood and the late Frenchie Lawrence Pyles. Doc loved hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheeler, and working on cars. He had worked as a Mechanic at Graham Chevrolet for 20 years until they had closed and then Preston Machine Shop. Doc is survived by one son, Michael Pyles, Kingwood, five siblings, Thelma Shaver and husband, Stanley, Tunnelton, Frances Pratt, Kingwood, Betty Sechrest and husband, Paul, Fayetteville, NC, Frenchie Junior Pyles and wife, Julia, Kingwood, Peggy Pyles, Kingwood; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Doc was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Mae Harrison; three brothers, William Scott Pyles, Franklin Warren Pyles and Steven Allen Pyles; one nephew, Brent Pratt; maternal grandparents, Duke and Cora Austin Smith; paternal grandparents, Thair and Clarcy McGinnis Pyles.
