James S.Davies, 83 of Birmingham passed away on August 17, 2009. Dr. Davies was a graduate of the Navy V-12 Program, Purdue University and the University of Alabama Medical College. After interning at Carraway Methodist Medical Center, he had additional training at the School of Aviation Medicine, Randolph AFB and served two years as a flight surgeon in the USAF, England AFB. Dr. Davies was in private practice for 50 years in the Center Point area. Survivors include his loving wife, Kathryn; their children, Sammy Davies (Nancy) and Dee Abreu; grandchildren, Heather Pinkham (Phil), Robert and Vanessa Abreu; one great grandchild, Samuel Pinkham; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
