James David Hunt died on July 12, 2024 after a valiant battle with brain cancer. He was 43 years old. James was born on February 17, 1981 in Lansing, Michigan to James \”Jim\” Martin Hunt and Patricia (Gallimore) Hunt.Known for his funny, easy-going demeanor, James was a man who prioritized family and those closest to him, always putting his children, his dog, and loved ones first. He was a proud resident of Lansing and was an ardent Michigan State fan.He embraced the challenges of farm work, excelled in car sales, and was a reliable money courier. His dedication and hard work eventually led him to become a respected manager at Smith Lawnscapes in St. Johns for the last several years. James was fond of hunting, fishing, shooting guns with friends, and grilling out. He enjoyed playing video games in his spare time, and he was a passionate coach for his childrens sports activities. He was easy going and silly and enjoyed joking around with his kids.In 2006, James married Melissa and together they raised six wonderful children in Fowler, Michigan. His love story took a second chapter on November 22, 2023, when he married Mandy. Their joy was amplified with the birth of their son, Odin. He was immensely proud of the home he purchased with Mandy, a testament to his hard work and determination. A family man through and through, every Christmas after opening presents, James gathered his family to watch the movie “A Christmas Story”, a tradition that will be fondly remembered and continued in his memory.James will be missed by many, especially by his children, Jocelynn, Ava, Nolan, Charlotte, Ruby, Emmitt and Odin; his parents, his siblings, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family members and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mandy and their son, Mattice in April of this year, and his special grandmother who was a big part of his life, Ruby Gallimore.
