James (David) Headley, 52, of Switz City, Indiana, passed away Monday, July 30, 2007, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. Born on December 18, 1954, he was the son of James W. and Iris Rose (Abercrombie) Headley. In October of 2000, he married Glenda Sue Sparks.
David was a purchasing agent for Macallister Machinery Company in Washington, IN, since April 5, 1993. He was a firefighter at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for 25 years, served with the Grant-Fairplay Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years and had served as the fire chief, and had also served as a Greene County Reserve Sheriff Deputy. He enjoyed hobbies of camping (at Sullivan Lake with his grandchildren and family) and building custom golf carts.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Sue Headley, a step-daughter, Jennifer Hostetter (Tim Brown) of Bloomfield, two step-sons, John ‘Jay’ (Teresa) English of Lyons and Chad English of Worthington, four grandchildren, Jorden & Trey English, Carter Hostetter, and Alexis Marie English, a brother, Mark Wallace (Colleen) Headley of Westphalia, a nephew, Jacob Mark Headley and a niece, Bethany Christine English.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
