Muncie-James “David” Brummett Sr., 70, passed away Sunday evening, September 19, 2010, at the Woodlands Health Care Center following an extended illness. He was born March 17, 1940 in Muncie, the son of Arthur James and Doris Ellen (Disney) Brummett. He attended Muncie City Schools. Mr. Brummett had served the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War Era as a Specialist 4th Grade stationed in Germany.
James married the love of his life Mary Jane (Brant) Brummett on January 17, 1969 in Muncie. Mr. Brummett had worked for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad for approximately 26 years, having been a Car Inspector, prior to his disability in 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Brummett, Muncie; one daughter Jayne Brummett and a son James David Brummett Jr. both of Muncie; two granddaughters, Kadey Brummett and Kiley Brummett, both of Muncie; one nephew, Jack Koger (wife-Rocky), Muncie; Great nephew, Eric Koger (wife-Melissa), Sarndille, Virginia; Great Neice, Lisa Olayode (husband-Ola), Muncie; one niece, Robin Jenkins, Tennessee; one brother, Bob Brummett; two additional great nephews, Justin and Ryan Brummett both of Muncie;.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Clara and Tammy White; one brother, Gary Brummett.
