James Darrell “Jim” York, 82, of Anderson, passed away on May 15, 2013 at Saint Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital Anderson.
He was born on August 11, 1930 in Anderson, Indiana and resided most of his life in Anderson. Jim served his country in the US Air Force. He retired from GM in 1988 after 38 years of service.
Jim is survived by his loving spouse of 19 years, Harriet Holliday York of Anderson, IN, children, Becky Sullivan of Anderson, IN, Douglas J Tonya York of Pendleton, IN, Jeffrey Angie York of Anderson, IN, stepdaughters, Valerie Matt Paterson and Teresa Skelnik, sisters-in-law, Naomi York of NY and Greta York of Anderson, brother-in-law, George Davis, 19 grandchildren including Jeremy whom he helped raise, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Essie Steel York, father, Roy York Sr., first wife of 39 years, Virginia Davis York, two brothers, Roy York, Jr. and Roland York.
