James “Jim” Smoltz was born January 1, 1958 and went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2021 at the age of 63. Beloved husband of 18 years to Janine. Beloved brother of John (Mary) Smoltz, Mary Balester, the late Joanne Sroka and brother in law of Christopher Bodkin. Proud step father of William (Shannon) Warner and Heather. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Jim is preceded in death by his parents John and Theresa Smoltz. Jim was an avid sportsman and longtime member of the Bonehead Hunting Club. He enjoyed spending his time working and in his free time loved to golf, travel, barbecue, and was an active member of the Father Saylor – Knights of Columbus. Baseball was always a passion to Jim throughout his life. He enjoyed tailgating at U of M football games with many of his lifelong friends. Jim was a bicentennial graduate of Cabrini Highschool.
