James D. Meadows Sr., 63, of Lark Street, died at home at 5:55 a.m. Friday (July 13, 2007), following an extended illness.

He was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Buckley, W.Va., to Rudolph and Elizabeth A. (Torma) Meadows. He married Carol Perry in January 1962 in Elkhart. They divorced. He married Judy L. Baumgartner on Aug. 11, 1985, in Elkhart. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, James (Angie) Meadows Jr. of Bristol and Darrell (Theresa) Meadows of Edwardsburg, Mich.; two daughters, Carol (Lincoln) Roy of Elkhart and Rain (Larry) Stephens of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two brothers, Daniel Meadows of Los Angeles and Terry (Connie) Meadows of Hope Mills, N.C.; and a sister, Dinah (Bob) Geil of Middlebury.

Mr. Meadows was a production worker in the recreational vehicle industry for many years and most recently worked for Keyline Sales until his health required an early retirement. He was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and NASCAR.” Ryan Newman was his favorite driver.
