James D. Hall, 47, died October 23, 2008 of a massive heart attack.

He was born October 14, 1961 in Sullivan County, Indiana. He spent his early childhood in Boston, Massachusetts before moving to Anderson, where he resided much of his life. Always a traveler, he spent many years in various states, returning repeatedly before adventuring out again. He passed away in Merritt Island, Florida. James never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone and made friends easily during the short time we were blessed with him. A natural born leader, he helped everyone in any way he could, was especially fond of children. Always a giver, he acted as a surrogate father to Josh McFarland, son of his special friend, Melanie Martin. He also dearly loved his step-children, Ace, Jordan and Cameron and his step-grandchildren, Mason, Maddie, Chase and Ella through his marriage with Leanne Bannon-Hall.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Nora & Lew Goodwin; his father, James Roland Hall; his son, Ryan and daughter, Danielle; sisters, Linda, Susan and Barbara; his maternal grandmother, Norma Zink; his uncles, Tom, Jim and Bob; aunts, Anita and Vivian; his niece, Nicole and nephews, Brandon, Jordan, Justin and Evan. He is also survived by his close friends, Jimmy, Kevin & Naomi Haynes, Andy Moran, Ross Anderson, Patrick & Tony Gwaltney, his first wife Connie, Brian Cunningham, Ralph Gorman and numerous others.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His family would like to extend a special thanks to his Aunt Anita for her kindness during this difficult time.
