He is survived by his wife April Carpenter, son Dusty Carpenter, daughter Sandy Holley (Jordan), father Mural Carpenter and mother Jane Carpenter, brother Pete Chapman, sister Missy Honerlah (Hans), father-in-law Ernest F. Platt and mother-in-law Wanda Wright, grandchildren Landon Carpenter, Leighton Chandler, Lynlee Holley, step-grandchildren Alexia Holley and Jameson Holley.
