James was born and raised on Milford, IA. He was the son of Henry and Florence, brother to Ken, Thelma, Russel, Henry Jr., Dorothy “Dort”, Lawrence, Vern, Pat, Diane, Tom and Larry.
James worked construction and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He has two children, Loney Arends and Shalonda (Arends) Jackson. Six grandchildren, Phaedra Arends, Draven Spry, April Arends, Mable Arends, Storm Jackson and Avery Jackson and one great grandson Jaden Miller.
