James Crosby was born May 6, 1937 in Gilbertown, AL. to the late Anderson Crosby Sr., and Addie Lampley Crosby. He departed this life on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine (James) Dailey, Ada (William Henry) McGrew and three brothers, Ulysses Crosby, Anderson Crosby Jr., and S.C. Crosby, two brothers-in-law; James Everett and Edward Napier and one devoted Aunt, Louise Lampley.

He joined Mt., Mariah Baptist Church in Nanafalia, AL. at an early age and served as Secretary of Sunday School for a number of years. He later joined the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a member his death.

James was an employee of Keahey Cleaning Company and Asplundh Tree Expert Company for a number of years until his retirement. James was and avid college football fan of the Auburn Tigers.

James leaves to cherish his memories two devoted sister, Vernell Everett of Silas, AL and Dorothy Napier of Butler, AL.; two sisters-in-law, Christene Crosby of Silas, AL., Bennie Lee Crosby of Jachin, AL., and two Aunts Lillie Gayle Everett and Millie Faye Jones of Waynesboro, MS., two uncles, Curtis Lee Lampley and Larry Lampley of Waynesboro, MS., 21 nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
