James was the beloved son of Elizabeth Eckles, James Shiflett Sr., and his wife Julia; loving father of Condessa Fassett, James Shiflett and his wife Amanda, Joseph Shiflett and his wife Niki; devoted brother of Roger, Julie, and Victor Shiflett, Billy Shiflett and wife Cheryl, Gloria Shipe and her husband John. He was also blessed with several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
