James Carlyle Ahlgren, 80, of Ewing, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the Pioneer Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.

He was born August 17, 1941 in Detroit Michigan, to the late Raymond C. Ahlgren and Mildred L. Charlton Ahlgren.

James was a United States Navy Veteran, and a retired mechanical engineer with Chrysler.  He enjoyed landscaping, gardening, playing drums in a jazz band, and enjoyed watching sports, especially golf.

He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-six years, Maxine Betty Ahlgren, who passed away July 10, 2022, and one brother, Ken Ahlgren.

Survivors include one daughter, Dyanne Zamora, two sons, Jack Engel Jr. and James Engel, three brothers, Tom Ahlgren, Roy Ahlgren, and Robert Ahlgren, five sisters, Shirley Ahlgren, Nancy Trieskey, Terri Ahlgren, Sharon Schubert, and Marlene Tubek, fourteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
