James Carl Moore, 91, passed away on August 1, 2010 in Boise, Idaho. Jim was born July 17, 1919 in Homedale, Idaho to Calvin T. and Maud (Hutchens) Moore. He grew up in Homedale near the Snake River.
At age 17, he and his brother, George, joined the C.C.C.’s. For three years they stayed at Alexander Flats and there he learned to be a heavy equipment operator.
In 1944, he was drafted into the Army-Air Force. On a leave, he met his future wife, Betty Jean Salisbury. They were married on March 31, 1946 in Homedale, Idaho.
Jim spent his employment years operating heavy equipment, building roads, the Cascade Dame, and working the cat at Boise Landfill for 25 years. He retired from the post office in 1981.
Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty; his daughters, Judy (Jim) Kindall of Layton, UT, Mary Moore of Milwaukie, WI, Marjorie (Garry) Davis of Boise, June (Alan) Deyo of Boise; two sisters, Mary Graham of Boise, and Lois Osborn of Moses Lake, WA; 17 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, George C. Moore.
