James Capesius, 84, of LuVerne passed away on August 23, 2017, at the Algona Good Samaritan Care Center.
James Julius Capesius, the son of Julius and Mary (Reding) Capesius, was born on April 22, 1933, in Algona, Iowa. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On February 17, 1962, James was united in marriage with Beatrice Bormann at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph. James was a farmer in the LuVerne area retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and he enjoyed camping, fishing, and farming. James is survived by his children; Gerald Capesius of LuVerne, Michael (Jan Fandel) Capesius of LuVerne, Mary Kay (Tory) Prasco of Crown Point, Indiana, and Jennifer (Jim) Ludwig of Wesley; grandchildren: Lexi, Joey, and Annie Prasco, Nick, Katie, and John Ludwig and Caelyn and Kylie Capesius; and a brother, Thomas (Lillian) Capesius of Algona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beatrice in 2015; a daughter Susie Capesius; a sister, Mary Joyce Capesius; and a brother, John Capesius.
