Mr. James C. Dark, age 77 of  Siler City, NC passed on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at UNC Hospital Chapel Hill, NC.

Mr James Clifton Dark, a native of Chatham County, was born April 4, 1941 to the late “Boge” Clifton and Pearl Chavis Dark. He was the only son of five siblings.

James was educated at Chatham County Training School and entered the workforce at an early age. He was supervisor at Siler City Mills for  numerous years. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking, and attending church.

He was a loyal member of First Missionary Baptist Church where he served in numerous capacities-men’s choir member, usher, and cooking for Relay for Life events and other events at the church. James faithfully attended Sunday School and enjoyed reading the weekly scriptures for Sunday’s lessons.

James was proceeded in death by his son, Elliott “Twig” Dark and by two sisters, Ernestine Dark and Christine Bonds.

Left to cherish memories of him are: his wife, Rose Brown Dark of Siler City, NC; Doris Norris of Asheboro, NC and Elizabeth Moffitt (Larry) of Siler City, NC; four daughters, Terrie Dark (Robert) and Robin Craven (Mike) of Siler City, NC, Takia Johnson o Sanford, NC and Melody Dark of Liberty, NC; grandchildren, Latisha Rodriguez, Tristan Rodgers, Kia Dark, Jamar Dark, Jarvis Cheek, Kristi Emerson, Michaele Wiggins (Anthony), and Aaliyah Taylor; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
