James “Knox” Buccigrosse of Burlington Township, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 93. He was born in Florence, NJ and was a longtime Burlington resident. James was the son of Giovanni and Lucia (Francesco). He served his country honorably during World War II in the US Navy. He then went on to a working career with PSE&G until his retirement.

He was a lifetime member of the Beverly Road Fire Department, as well as an Honorary Life Member of the American Legion. Jim was also the former Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus in Burlington. In his free time, he enjoyed watching local high school sporting events, especially the Florence Falcons. He enjoyed reading, listening to Big Band music and “hanging” down the river with his friends, “The River Rats”.

A great joy in Jim’s life was to play the role of Santa Claus. He did this for many years at St. Paul School and at other venues. The greatest joy of his retirement years, however, was spending time with his grandchildren and his great grandchildren Chloe and Rocco. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ella M (nee: Conda) and his six brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by a devoted and caring daughter Jean and son in law Albert Lucci; grandchildren: Stephanie (Christopher) May, Justin Lucci; his great-grandchildren: Chloe and Rocco May and many nieces and nephews.
