He was a 1987 graduate of Austin High School followed by college at Calhoun Community College and Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, GA where he played basketball.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Durr and sister, Deidra Harris.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Durr (Decatur, AL), two sons: Devonte Durr, Devren Durr and their mother, Kertina Rucker of Smyrna, GA; three sisters, Brenda Jefferson, Sandra Durr and Etta Michelle Durr all of Decatur, AL; two brothers, Anthony (Wanda) Clay of Decatur, AL and Michael Clay of Bessemer; a special daughter: Jasmine Cater of Decatur, AL), a special friend, Kathy Jones of Decatur; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
