James Bernice Harvey III, 38, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on June 29, 2022 in Greenwood, IN.

James was born on May 21, 1984, in Berwyn, IL to the union of James B. Harvey Jr. and Linda P. (Reaves) Harvey. James was raised in Bolingbrook, IL and attended Romeoville High School and later completed his high school education in Crowley, TX.

During James’ childhood in Illinois and young adult years in Texas, he built strong friendships and these friends remained family until his passing.

James followed in the footsteps of his fellow Harvey men with his love for cooking. He was a die-hard University of Michigan fan, be it football or basketball (Go BLUE), a Florida State Football fan, and was a loyal Chicago Bears fan. In his school age years, James also enjoyed playing baseball and loved watching both the White Sox and the Cubs.

In 2009, James moved to Indianapolis, IN to be closer to his sister Rani, younger brother John, and his nieces and nephew. In Indy, James found his calling in the service industry. He started as a Bouncer and worked his way to being a Club Manager at The Patron Saint. During his time in this industry, James made many friends and touched many lives with his gentle heart and giving spirit.

James left his mark in a way that has impacted so many. During his last months, as he fought to recover from a 2nd stroke, the out pour of love and support he and the family received from his closest friends is something special and unforgettable. It is a testament of who James was and the love he gave to others.

James was preceded in death by his two brothers Michael Harvey and Michael “Rocco” Clark. He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Jim and Linda Harvey; sisters Cheryl and Rani Harvey; brother John Harvey; sister-in-law Kristina Harvey; nephews Ryker Dudley, Tyler Hampton, and Kohen Harvey; nieces Niema Harvey, Canensha Glaze, Hillary (Nick) Warner, Raighan Dudley, Rhianna Dudley, Raine Harvey-Greene, and Elle Harvey; great-nieces Nyla Rae Nelson, Tamira Glaze, and Kyndall Warner; great-nephew Kameron Warner; a host of aunts, cousins, and friends.
