James Barton Perviss, of Okeechobee, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

He rejoined his late wife of 63 years, Mable Perviss; brothers, Charles Perviss and Lamar Gunter; and sisters, Anne Sparks and Carmen Browning.

He was born on April 12, 1936, to James and Estelle Perviss. He became a cowboy at the age of 15 and stayed one, if just in the heart. He often sang in his local church, The Seventh-Day Christian Church, along with his wife and other family members.

He was a devoted father to his two children; son, John Perviss (Alisha) and daughter, Debbie Perviss; a giving grandfather to four grandchildren; Christie Perviss, Jimmy Perviss (Vanessa), Alaina Barron (David), and Becky Cook; and a proud great-grandfather to Abigail Perviss, Micah Perviss, Henry Perviss, Kathryn Barron, Desiree Cook, AnnaLee Dubel, and Jason Hull. He is also survived by his sister, Juannie Howard; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
