James C. Bambarger, Jim, or known by most as “Bam”, passed away at the age of 74 on Sunday, June 5, 2022, in Eutaw, Alabama.
Bam was born in Baldwin County, Alabama to L. C. and Irene Bambarger. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Greta Smith Bambarger; his brothers William L. Bambarger, John T. Bambarger (Bettye); his daughters Bridgett Monk, Leslie Abernathy; and son in laws Derek Monk, Ron Abernathy, Jeff Bryant. He was cherished by his six grandchildren: Elizabeth, Scott, Berkeley, Jackson, Savannah and Stewart?

Bam was a loyal and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a Christian and served as an Elder at Union Christian Church. He was a graduate of The University of Alabama with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
As a Professional Engineer, Bam was the sole employee of a construction materials testing company, the company now known as TTL Inc. During his career, Bam served as project engineer, project manager, and geotechnical engineer before becoming chief executive officer of TTL.
Bam chaired UA’s Engineering Leadership Board and the Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame. He was previously honored as a UA Distinguished Engineering Fellow (2002), Civil Engineering Outstanding Fellow (1992), and College of Engineering Outstanding Alumni Volunteer (2007). He was presented with the UA civil engineering department’s Keith-Woodman Award (2005) and was the West Alabama chamber of commerce Small Business Person of the Year (1992).
Bam loved his family farm where he and Greta spent many years with their children and grandchildren, along with his lifelong and loyal family friend, Jay Walton. Bam was a kind and compassionate leader who dedicated himself to helping others in his community. Also, his
special relationship with the city employees of Orange Beach gave him an opportunity to give back to a community he loved. He will forever be in the hearts of his wife, family and friends.
