James B. Jones, Sr., 71, Anderson, entered Heaven on June 25, 2011, at his residence after a courageous battle with Prostate Cancer. He was born March 4, 1940, in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Anderson all of his life.

He was a graduate of Highland High School. James proudly served his country in the US Marine Corp. He retired from the Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 30 years of service. He was a Journeyman Printer at the Anderson Herald-Bulletin Newspaper, and owned and operated Chesterfield Craft Corner. He enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of Chesterfield Christian Church, Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #77 F. & A.M., Daleville Masonic Lodge #730 F. & A.M. where he was Past Master of both; Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis; Murat Temple Shrine; Madison County Shrine Club; Daleville Order of Eastern Star #568, Noon Lions Club and was a former Chairman and Chapter Dad of the Order of Demolay. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Ralena Phillips Jones, whom he married on May 22, 1960, and just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. They had four children; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren that he made feel that they each were his favorite.

The children are, Mary Ellen Beckham James of Shirley, Kathlene Lynn Morgan David of Anderson, Jama Rae Hays Mike of Anderson, and James B. Jones Jr. Amanda of Alexandria; siblings, Judith Allen of Anderson, Barbara Richardson Gene of Alexandria, Theresa Coates Larry of Anderson and David Jones Cindy of Alexandria; grandchildren, Tyler Karkosky Jen, Jaimi Smith, Ami Bolin Chris, Kyle Karkosky, Alexandra Hays, Emily Hays, Jennifer Beckham, Jimiesha Jones, Ian Hays, Jimmie Jones, and Jesse Jones; great-grandchildren, Eli Karkosky and Tayler Karkosky; step-grandchildren, Scott Morgan, Shelby Morgan, Cheyenne Morgan, Misty Holtsclaw, Mattea Holtsclaw, and R.J. Holtsclaw; four step-sisters, and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Naqvi and staff at the Anderson Cancer Center and also Dr. Elsaharty and Community Hospice for their compassionate care.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Newton-Jones and Mary Ellen Montgomery Jones.
