James B. Carter, 67, died on August 13, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.

Born in 1952 in Denver, Jim was raised in Evergreen and joined the Army in 1971. He then lived in Tennessee for several years and eventually return to the Denver area. He held many positions, the longest of which was as an over-the-road truck driver where he had the chance to see many new places in the United States.

He leaves behind his wife Waltraud Carter in Aurora, CO; his mother Marthena Keberle in Brush, CO, his two daughters Melissa Carvell (John Carvell) and Cynthia Rogers-Kerr (Jeff Kerr) in Clarksville, TN, his six grandchildren Bryce Clark (Shyla), Chase Clark, Blake Clark, Brayden Rogers, Alivia Kerr and Braxton Kerr (Clarksville, TN), his great- grandson Canyon Clark (Clarksville, TN), his brother David Bates (Brush, CO), his sister Sherry Leonard (Brush, CO) and two nieces Lacie Ocaña (Jonathan) and Lauren Ables with their children Denessa, Julie, Lilly, Divina, Jena, Love, Novah, and Maddox.

Jim had many hobbies throughout his life. He rebuilt a Corvette and a Jeep, loved horses (and just about any other animal), HO model trains, and most recently started to build car models.
