James Avery Owens, 99, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on February 16, 2022.A Bessemer resident for over 75yrs. He was born August 15, 1922 in Alabama to Willie M. Jones who preceded him in death along with his wife Bessie L. Owens, uncle Henry and Aunt Sara Smith, son Vernon L. Owens, brother in law Clyde Wilson, and grandson Peter J. Hatchett.
Mr. Owens graduated from Central High School class of 1943 and retired from the Pueblo Army Depot as a heavy machines mechanic.
