James Arthur Burress, 92, of Brooklyn, passed away on May 7, 2018.
James was born on July 16, 1925 the 9th of 11 children of the late James Rayburn and Cora L. (Kidd) Burress in Grapefield, VA. Being a child of the depression James learned many skills and life virtues that he held onto his entire life. He begin working at a young age to help support his family and continued working up until recently. He joined the Army and served in WWII, where he was injured in the Battle of the Bulge. After being honorably discharged from the Army he moved to Baltimore to live with his sister. He then met and married Marie Kidd his beloved wife of over 60 years. James was a Crane Operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 37. He was a man of Faith and was a member of Lansdowne Worship Center.
