James “Jim” Alward Burke, age 85, died Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born January 24, 1931, in Auburn, NY to the late James Alward Burke and Edna Marquart Burke.
Jim was a graduate of LeMoyne University in Syracuse, New York. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. Jim is survived by his wife Carol Moody Burke, his daughters, Lauren Jones (Bill), Roslyn Dowis (Bill), and Caroline Bowen (Wayne). He is also survived by grandchildren; Burke Dowis, Stanford Jones, Ashley Bowen, and Jake Bowen. Jim will always be cherished by his family and friends for his Irish humor and his love of his family.
