James Allen Hamilton Sr., 75, of Indianapolis, passed away July 23, 2016, in Indianapolis. He was born in Indianapolis on October 1, 1940, to his parents, Glen R., Sr. and Vella (Denny) Hamilton. He married Carol Jean Hamilton of May 25, 1979.
He was a member of the Early Ford V8 Club, the Indy Idlers Car Club, and Teamsters, Local 135. He enjoyed antiques, old cars, steam engines, #1 Hot Rods, and auctions.
James is survived by his wife; Carol Jean (Landis) Hamilton, three children; James Jr. (Priscilla) Hamilton of Indianapolis, Laura (David) Johnson of Bargersville, and William Jr. (Staci) Henry of Indianapolis, eight grandchildren; Aaron and Caleb Hamilton both of Indianapolis, David, Jr. “Bubby” Johnson of Franklin and Brandon Johnson of Bargersville, and Kyle, Krista, Makenzie, and Madison Henry all of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Glen R. Sr. and Vella (Denny) Hamilton, and three brothers; Sherman, Glen Jr., and Melvin Hamilton.
