Obituary of James Adams

Passed away bravely at age 93 on July 6, 2017. The son of Italian immigrants, Jim was born in St. Paul on October 20, 1923. Preceded in death by wife Beverly, parents Joseph and Julia, sisters Florence Anderson and Teresa Borkan, infant son Nicholas, and beloved son John Michael. Survived by children Jay (Nancy), Jeff, Mary Jo (Larry) Grabau, Cindy (Don) Bauerfeld, Joseph (Tina), and Andrea. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother Alex and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jim was a loving husband, father, brother, and son who served in the Navy during WWII, stationed in the Aleutian Islands and the Philippines. He worked many years with Armour & Co. and as the General Plant Manager at Pabst Meat Supply, Inc. Jim was strong in his Catholic faith, attending holy Mass every week. He was a leader, teacher, and day-maker, whose sharp sense of humor and gregarious personality always drew others into conversation and laughter. He was fiercely proud of his Italian roots, infusing love as the main ingredient in “the sauce.” He loved to fish, read, play cribbage, and was an avid golfer as a member at Southview Country Club. Rest in peace Dad, we will honor, respect and hold you in our hearts forever. 4-8PM Tuesday, July 11 at Willwerscheid West-Heights Chapel, 235 Wentworth Ave W, West St. Paul, 651-457-7938.
