James “Mickey” Acker, of Birmingham, AL passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the age of 65. He was a loving and devoted Husband, Daddy, and PawPaw. He was a member of Rock First United Methodist Church of Tarrant, AL. He was a retired Birmingham Fireman. He was also a service technician for Sears Roebuck Co. Mr. Acker was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Gladys Acker, sister, Irene Parker, and a brother, Dan Acker. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years this May 7th, Nancy Acker; daughters, Tracy McLeod (Ralph) of Alabaster, AL, Christy Naylor (Allan) of Argo, AL, and Stephanie Canterbury (Ricky) of West Blockton, AL; sister, Mabel Murphy of Brighton, AL; brother, Sammy Acker (Sue) of Montevallo, AL; grandchildren, Briana, Brooke, and Blake McLeod, Allana and Jay Naylor, Olivia and Zach Canterbury; numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
