Since 1948 Retired from Delco-Remy Division of General Motors in 1987 after 20 years of Service, he also worked for Russell Byrum Builders for 19yrs prior to Delco-Remy Served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957 UAW Local #662, and enjoyed woodworking, Painting and playing his keyboard
He is survived by his Wife of 31yrs. Leanne Simmonds Shaver of Anderson. 2 Step Daughters whom he considered his own: Rebecca Anne Sidwell of Anderson, and Tari husb Bob Murray of Indianapolis. 2 Daughters from a previous Marriage: Carol Thompson and Virginia husb Joe Martin both of Anderson. 2 Sisters: Willie Judd of McMinnville, TN and Thelma husb Archie Wright of Livingston, TN. Several Grandchildren.
Several special Nieces and Nephews in Tennessee as well as Leonard Gentry of Anderson, and a very special Niece and Nephew John wife Brenda Gentry of Anderson.
