James Alfred Reese, “Jr” was born on September 20, 1924 to James Alfred and Annie Reese on a farm outside of Marlow, Oklahoma. Jim passed away at home on Friday, November 18, 2016 in Taft, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 68 years, Wanda “Smitty” Reese. Jim is survived by his brothers, Bill of Wyoming, Don and Jackie of Oklahoma and Keith of Utah; his son and his wife, Don and Cathy Reese of Bakersfield; his daughter and her husband, Vickie and Doug Kincaid of Taft; his grandchildren, Tom and Kristen Reese of Bakersfield, Tammie and Brian Thom of Missouri, Jarod Kibbe and his fiancAC., Ali Hagenston of Bakersfield, Brian and Michelle Kincaid and Tony and Crystal Kincaid of Taft; his great-grandchildren, Jake and his wife, Caty, Cherise, Luke and Reanna; Phenix and Carsyn; Jordan, Shelby, Curtis, and Jamie; Mat, Natalie and Wendy; his great-great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Amelia, Addison and Brayden. Jim was a Corporal in the United States Army and served on the USS Comfort during World War II when it was hit by a Japanese Kamikaze. Upon being honorably discharged from the Army, he made his lifelong career in the oilfields stretching over 12 states and retiring from Atlantic Richfield in 1982, followed by several years as a consultant.
