James A Reese, 67, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at his residence in Parker City, with his family at his side, following an extended illness.  He was born in Barberton, Ohio, the son of Nelson and Yvonne (Orr) Reese, and moved to Muncie when he was seven.  He attended Muncie schools, graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1964, and received his Associates Degree from Ball State University.

     Mr. Reese served in the US Navy.

     Jim was employed by Indiana Bell, retiring from Ameritech.  Following retirement he was employed by Primerica Insurance, Muncie Delaware Clean and Beautiful, and was coordinator for ARC Foreign Exchange Student Program.

     Jim was active in numerous organizations in Muncie and Delaware County.

     An Eagle Scout he was active as an adult in Boy Scouts. He was a member of     Troop 1, past commissioner of the Golden Eagle District, and had served on numerous committees for the Scouting program.  He was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award and was named Scout of the Year for 2012.

     Surviving are his wife, Beverly (Henry) Reese, to whom he had been married forty-seven years; his three children, Jeffrey D. Reese, (wife, Rebecca), Port Charlotte, Florida, Rebecca M. (Reese) Dorn, (husband, John), Louisville, Kentucky, and Nathan A. Reese, (fiancé, Misty Coahran), Muncie; his exchange daughter, Christina Artacho, (husband, Jason), Madrid, Spain; four grandchildren, Kaelyn, Lydia, Autumn, and Jonah Reese;  his sister, Mary McGinnis, (husband, Steve), Marietta, Georgia; his brother, Alan Reese, (wife, Carol), Naperville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
