James A. Hunt, 89, of Freeport, died Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Provena St. Joseph.
Born July 27, 1923 in Taylorville he was the son of Ralph and Mary (McClughan) Hunt. He married Fran L. Sims on March 28, 1946. She died on May 15, 1993.James was a manager for Woolworth Stores Inc. for 38 years. He managed stores in Indianapolis, Chicago, Freeport, and the largest Woolworth store in the U.S. in Battle Creek, Michigan. He retired in 1980.He was a member of First Free Methodist Church.
Surviving are 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and his son-in-law, Ron Lender of Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 1 daughter, LaQuita Lender; 1 son, James F. Hunt; and 1 brother.
