Jadwiga Wądołowska, 91, of Bristol, formerly of New Britain, passed away peacefully and comfortably at home surrounded by the presence and love of her family on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, and was reunited with Eugeniusz Wądołowski, her late husband of 55 years, in time to celebrate Easter. Jadwiga was born in Poland on October 21, 1930 to the late Kazimiera (Łuniewska) and Kajetan Wądołowski. Being a dedicated wife and mother she arrived to the U.S. in 1964 with her family, settling in Stamford, where she was a parishioner of Holy Name Parish, a member of Our Lady of the Rosary and regularly attended various church functions with her family. She was an extremely hard worker, and worked in housekeeping both for private duty and corporations. Even though she lived in America, she never forgot her family in Poland, always sending packages and whatever assistance she could to ease their lives. In her spare time, she would crochet beautiful table covers and doilies and knit dresses, sweaters and shirts all of which she would create the designs in her mind. She later moved to New Britain and worked at St. Lucian’s Residence until she retired. She found joy and pride caring for the elderly. No matter what task was presented to her, she completed it enthusiastically and was full of life and energy. Jadwiga was deeply religious, a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and Róże Maryji in New Britain. She enjoyed attending Mass with her family, praying and singing in church which is something she held dear to her heart and carried over from Poland when she sang in the church choir. Family was her life. With her generous and loving heart she extended herself to her family in Poland by helping them to come over to the U.S. to better their way of life; she was always kind and loving and made everyone feel at home. Jadwiga was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who was happiest when surrounded by friends and family especially when spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known as “Mama”, “Babcia”, “Ciocia” and “Jadzia”. Mama was the go to babysitter constantly caring for and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would drop everything when her family needed assistance. She never said no when asked for help! She was so proud of all of them.
