Jacqulyn Van Gelder Wilcox (Jackie), age 89, of Littleton, CO went to be with Jesus on January 16, 2021. She was born on March 24, 1931 in Charles City, IA. She is preceded in death by her father Paul, mother Cora, and brother Thomas Van Gelder. She is survived by her husband John (Jack) Wilcox, her sister Judith (Jodi) Benker and husband Dean, daughter Amy Bourque and son-in-law John, son Paul Wilcox and daughter-in-law Freya, granddaughters Christy Biehl and husband Dan, and Mandy Wimmer and husband David.

After living in Iowa fifteen years, she arrived in Denver, CO, with her family in 1947. Jackie graduated from high school in 1948 and continued with secretarial courses. She met Jack Wilcox, Denver University graduate, in 1951 and was married on September 08. They were married sixty nine amazing years. Jack’s National Guard Unit was drafted during the Korean War. Jack served in the Air Force and had a lifetime love affair with planes AND with Jackie. With Jack as Director/Head Pro in the golf profession, and Jackie working as a senior secretary in the education field, they enjoyed a wonderful life. Being parents and grandparents brought them great joy.
Jackie was a faithful woman, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, amazing cook, and admirer of tulips, who was devoted to her lipstick and Jesus. She had one strong, feisty spirit that she carried with her all the way until her last day. Her laugh was music to the ears and her joy was contagious. She will be remembered as a woman of great faith for Jesus. We look forward to the day we can see her again in God’s Kingdom.
