Mrs. Jacquelyn “Jackie” Sigur, née Vedrenne, died peacefully Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, during the Divine Mercy hour, at 3:49 PM, at the age of 77.
Jackie is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Dr. Arthur Alexander Sigur, Jr., her three children, Helen Anne Sigur, Arthur Alexander Sigur, III and wife, Cindy Sigur, Valerie Sigur Linn and husband, Kevin Linn, five grandchildren, Allie & Amie Sigur, Jennifer, Megan and Stephen Linn and her sister, Evelyn Vedrenne Ruckstuhl. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Clifford J. Vedrenne and Mildred G. Vedrenne.
Jackie was born in New Orleans on September 10, 1937. She graduated from Holy Name of Jesus in 1955 where she was an all-star basketball and volleyball champion and attended Newcomb College and University of Louisiana Lafayette. She was President of the New Orleans Chapter of Louisiana Dental Association Women’s Auxiliary, Illustrator and Cover Artist for the Kehoe-France Cookbook, Seamstress, Prop Mistress and Party Host Extraordinaire for her children’s theatre productions at Jesuit and Mt. Carmel, Golf Champion and Newsletter Editor at Metairie Country Club, Needlepoint Etc. shop owner, Office Helper for Center of Jesus the Lord and St.
