Jacquelyn “Jackie” Woodworth
April 20, 1970 – November 7, 2021
Jackie was born in Youngstown, Ohio to her loving parents, Jacqueline and Paul Woodworth. After graduating from Smithtown HS (N.Y.) she graduated from Smith College (MA) where she excelled. Jackie went on to obtain a law degree from City University (CUNY) Law School and pass the NY bar. In N.Y. she was an attorney before moving to Alameda, CA in 2009.
Jackie was Director of Recruiting at Lexolution and owner of Card May Yard East Bay. In her “spare” time she volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Jackie was a dedicated alumni for Smith College serving on numerous committees. She was class president of her 1992 graduating class and this year was in charge of her class reunion.
When Jackie’s son, Luca Michael came into her life, her world changed. Luca was the love of her life. Along with her partner, Annette Fago, they traveled extensively, especially to out of town ball games. The love of baseball was definitely passed on to Luca, who is an avid baseball player with the Little League in Alameda. Jackie dedicated her life to Luca, trying to make his best life a reality. She was a tireless worker at her son’s school, La Scula, serving as room parent for several years. Jackie was always dreaming up ways to make her son’s life more enjoyable; she recently redesigned the basement to make a “Kid’s Kave” for Luca and his friends. She held parties frequently at her home, inviting her lucky friends to indulge in her delicious cooking, baking and relax in her luxurious backyard, which she spent hours landscaping to perfection.
Jackie developed lifelong friends no matter where she was. She was a beautiful and magical person, a great pie and pizza chef! She had a strong bond with her mother, Jacqueline, and step father, Philip. Over the years, she and her mom went on trips together, traveling to Washington DC to attend the World Figure Skating Championships, to Canada to attend several family reunions with her Canadian aunts and let’s not forget those fun wine tasting excursions everywhere! We family members and friends count ourselves as privileged to have closely shared her life. Jackie was an exceptionally kind, loving and generous person who enriched our lives just by being with us. She made us all better people.
Jackie is survived by her eight year old son, Luca Michael, life partner Annette Fago, proud parents Jacqueline and Philip, step brother James Ruffini, step sister Donna Clapp, loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many devastated friends. She is preceded in death by her father Paul Woodworth and sweet brother Michael Woodworth.
