Jacqueline Marie Mims Parker was born on August 1, 1952, in Lubbock, Texas to her parents, Elis Mims and Rosa Jean Pitts Mims. She was the second child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brother, John and her sister, Donna. “Jackie” as she was affectionately called received her early education Lubbock where she attended elementary school. The family relocated to Denver, Colorado and she graduated from East High School in 1970. After graduation, Jackie became employed by Denver University as a Secretary in the DU Library. She was remembered as being hard working and dependable. In 1990, Jackie united in holy matrimony to Calvin Parker in Denver, Colorado. There were no children born to this union and he preceded her in death. Jackie was a fun loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman. To know Jackie was to love her. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Rosa J. Mims. Jacqueline Marie Mims Parker departed this life on October 1, 2013, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her father, Elis Mims, Jr. of Denver; her brother, John A. (Aidee) Mims Cuernavaca, Mexico; her sister, Donna S. Mims of Denver and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
