Born on June 15, 1928 in Jenkins, KY, she was the daughter of the late Walter Grady and Savannah Dotson. Jackie started her working career after moving to Baltimore, as a salesgirl where she met her late husband, Joseph John Serio. After holding sales jobs, she became a meat wrapper for Food Fair which later became Pantry Pride and from where she retired.
One of her many loves was traveling to Las Vegas, going to parties and dancing to her favorite song “Johnny B. Goode” by Chuck Berry, and playing cards with her sister Fay and friends.
