Jackie Hunnicutt Scott, 76, of Suwanee, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 28.
Born on May 10, 1945, Jackie was raised in Central, South Carolina, graduating from Seneca High School in 1963 and Furman University Nursing School in 1966.
She invested her life serving others as a nurse, retiring from the Gwinnett Hospital system after 30+ years of faithful service. Her service to others extended well beyond her nursing career as she generously leveraged both her time and resources to multiple charities, ministering on various mission trips, and volunteering at Gwinnett Church, Sugar Hill. Jackie was also actively involved in organizations she believed would provide a better future for others: The Conservative Republican Women’s Group, Gwinnett Republican Assembly, Citizens Impact Group, Georgia Task Force for Child Abuse, and Child Adoption.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lillie Mae Hunnicutt; her sister, Harriett Garrett; and her daughter, Kelly Scott.
She is survived by her sister, Gail Williams (Alec), and brother-in-law, Lamar Garrett. She is also survived by three sons: Alexander MacConnell Scott IV (Elaine), Philip Thomas Scott (Jennifer), Christopher Paul Scott; and her daughter, Shannon Leigh Scott (Janet). She was a proud grandmother of three: Harrison Alexander Scott (Alyssa), Katherine Elaine Scott, and Thomas MacConnell Scott; and one great-grand daughter, Henlee-Sailor Elizabeth Scott.
