Jacqueline King, Middleton, MA

“And though she be but little, she is fierce.” – William Shakespeare. Jacqueline Frances (Kashian) King, 73, of Middleton, MA, passed away on June 2, 2022. She was born to the late Jack and Christine (Abbate) Kashian on February 20, 1949, in Winthrop, MA, and was the second oldest of four sisters. She called East Boston, MA, home for more than 60 years, which was where she met her beloved husband, Donald Edward King Jr., to whom she was married for just shy of 54 years. East Boston was also where she raised her two sons, Donald Edward III (Kirsten), of Burlington, MA, and Christopher Sean (Maureen), of Peabody, MA.

Laughing in the face of not one, not two, but three different forms of cancer over 16 years, she epitomized the words resilience and strength. Forever a fixture at her grandchildren’s basketball, baseball, and softball games—even through her illnesses—you could easily hear her words of encouragement across the courts and fields, with one of her favorites being: “concentrate!” as her grandsons and granddaughters took the mound.

Jackie would spend countless hours on the phone with her sisters, and enjoyed many annual trips with them and their spouses to Las Vegas, where she never found a slot machine she didn’t like. When at home, Jackie was generous with her love and food, as everyone knew you would never leave her home hungry. She absolutely loved entertaining and cooking for her friends and family.

During the final stages of her illness, Jackie was surrounded by an enormous amount of love, further proving the profound positive effect she had on those she was closest to. Don, Donnie, Kirsten, Chris, and Maureen thank everyone for such an overwhelming outpouring of support.
